Sydney Boat Show at Darling Harbour 2-6 August 2012

Every year the Sydney Boat Show creeps up so very quickly and this year has been no different. It's our fourth year of exhibiting and is our biggest and most anticipated show of the year. This year we'll be doing our first inside (Hall 2) and outside stand (on the Marina), which I must admit, being a boutique business is a little daunting albeit super exciting!

Before moving into the Boating Industry, it was a favourite past time of mine to attend boat shows, both in Australia and all around the World.  A word of advice, always choose comfortable flat shoes that are easy to slip on and off. There's nothing like having sore feet or having to tie up your laces every time you want to check out a boat in more detail. AND, have water, sunblock and a jacket.

Of course, if you're looking to a buy a boat, the Sydney Boat Show is the number one destination in Australia to let your feet do the walking and check out your short-listed dream boats back to back. It's just like buying a car. Do all your research ahead of the show and when you attend the show, you're completely armed and ready to make an informed decision on what constitutes the best boat for you.

If the prospect of owning a boat is merely one where you have an image on your vision board, do still think about attending the show as it's a great way to get your knowledge up on all things boating. The Sydney Boat Show is great for seeing fashion shows, live presentations by industry professionals and basically, it's a great opportunity to ask all those 'silly' questions (trust me, there are none) that you've been dying to get answers for.

As the Sydney Boat Show is located at Darling Harbour, it's a great excuse to have a harbour front lunch with your family or special friends and of course, if you have the kids in tow, they will love all the competitions they can play a part of as well as promotional giveaways.

As per every year, my highlight is welcoming Steve Heese, the Chris Craft President, to our stand (on the Marina) and we would suggest any Chris Craft devotee out there, should definitely pop by to meet him.

We look forward to seeing you at the Show and of course, feel free to ask me any questions about what boats we'll have on display!

Happy and Safe Boating!
